Beautiful, durable, functional art.

About me- After growing up on the East End of Long Island, I now work out of my home studio in upstate New York. I’m a nature and animal lover, beekeeper, and proud mom of 2 girls.

My Process- Hand-built and wheel-thrown pieces are altered, sculpted, carved, and carefully dried. Pieces then undergo the first firing (bisque), to convert the clay to ceramic for durability, still allowing porosity for the glazing process. Underglaze and glaze are applied by hand using various techniques including dipping and brushwork. Pieces are then fired a second time at a higher temperature to convert the glaze to glass and vitrify the clay for food safety. Glazes are all non-toxic, lead-free, and food safe, made from powdered minerals, silica(sand), and water.

I use various types of beautiful clay, often leaving part of the outside of a vessel unglazed/raw. I love achieving interesting glaze colors, textures, and effects with layering techniques.

Pieces are fired in an efficient electric kiln, and I use compostable and/or recycled shipping materials.
